Many question how the Desert Reptilis workshops, known for their crude, makeshift designs, managed to create such an advanced war machine like the Chakram Bike. The answer is that it wasn’t originally theirs. The prototype had come from an outsider. Hertz was once a Veck warrior, tasked with defending the royal city. However, after offending a noble and losing his wife and daughter, he wandered into foreign lands. Still wearing his Veck Arche Armor, he found himself in the lawless wastelands. His obsessive hatred led him to become a bounty hunter who seeks vengeance for others, and a rare enforcer of the law (a paid one, enforcing laws of his own making) in the Wasteland and the Sand Sea. By raiding Karsten forces, he acquired arms. Soon, a number of his former Veck comrades, disgraced Karsten Knights, and Lanns joined his group. Using the stolen Karsten prototype and blueprints, he asked the Desert Reptilis workshops to craft the Chakram Bike. His unorthodox behavior caused tension with the tribes, but he eventually struck a deal with Mosa, the leader of the Hot Sand Brigade . In exchange for resources, Hertz and his companions would search for Arche ruins on Mosa’s behalf. Thus, the “Skeleton Brigade” was born. Since the Chakram Bikes are difficult to control, its drivers must wear Arche Armor to augment their strength. Given the lack of Arche Armor in the Desert Reptilis tribes and the limited number of bikes produced, the bikes are only for the strongest members of the Skeleton Brigade.
