The 103 series is a DC commuter train that was introduced in 1963, and the Saikyo Line is a line that connects Osaki Station to Omiya Station. When the Saikyo Line opened in 1985, the 103 series was in operation, but it was gradually replaced by the 205 series and ceased commercial operation on December 10, 1990. At the time of its demise, the Saikyo Line still operated between Shinjuku Station and Omiya Station.
