If the Private Guard has any flaw, it’s their extremely small numbers. With recruitments coming only once every five years, they had no choice but to develop high-performance combat drones. Thus, the Cyclops Walker was born.
This combat drone operates autonomously, dynamically adapting to battlefield conditions. Its transformable design allows for both combat and transport roles. Its cannon, resembling a lone eye, has double the caliber of a standard Aether-Pressure Cannon, with rounds capable of punching through multiple layers of volcanic crystal alloy. Once a runic command plate is secured in its core bay, the system enters a closed-circuit state, remaining operational until its blue crystal canister is fully depleted.
Under special circumstances, the drone can be manually operated by the Private Guard. When integrated with the Titan-Arm Sledge, it significantly amplifies firepower.
Despite the Walkers’ impressive efficiency, there have been instances in battle where they went out of control, resulting in tragic friendly fire. The cause of these malfunctions remains a mystery, and several legion commanders have voiced their opposition. After weighing the pros and cons, the Guard decided to install a self-destruct mechanism in the mecha’s core, using a unique Aether-charged ammunition capable of destroying or immobilizing the unit with a single shot.
This sparked some speculation, with some secretly dubbing it the “Blind Ogre.” The majority of the Veck army found this name much more amusing than a “Walker,” though members of the Guard didn’t find it funny at all.
